The Power Play
How do I supercharge my growth as a Christian?
I have written out a few of the top catalyst that have supercharged my growth as a Christian. I hope that these can give you ideas on how to grow rapidly in your walk with the Lord.
I recommend saving this lesson for future reference and bookmarking some of the resources on this page.
The biggest causes of growth in my life have been...
- Spending Time Daily With the Lord
Have a daily quiet time where you spend time in the Word and prayer.
- I recommend reading at least a chapter a day and responding to the Lord in prayer what He has taught you in that chapter.
- How do you spend time daily with the Lord?
- Dealing With Sin In My Life
Begin to eliminate all overt practices of sin in your life.
- I recommend having an accountability partner who can keep you on track.
- Keep short accounts with God by confessing sin everyday in your Quiet Time.

- Finding Good Christian Community
Surround yourself by godly men and women who will motivate you to pursue the Lord.
- For me, those people have been my wife and a list of godly men I can contact when I need good counsel.
- It is also a good idea to get involved in a Bible believing church and a small group such as a community, discipleship, or prayer group.
- Who or what is your Christian community?
- Listening to Good Bible Teachers Everyday
Learn daily from a solid Bible teacher who you enjoy listening to or reading.
- Listening to my favorite preacher daily is probably the single most catalyst for growth in my walk with the Lord outside of having a daily quiet time and dealing with sin.
- My favorite preacher is Tommy Nelson from Denton Bible Church and I have made it a habit to listen to his sermon series.
- It all started with his series on 'Song of Solomon', you can listen to it yourself here: https://dentonbible.org/media/media-library/view-series/love-song/
- I have also benefited greatly from listening to Christian books on audio.

Final Thoughts
Completely devote yourself to the will of God and eternal things. All of the above activities are great; however, they are meant to ultimately glorify God. If they serve only to increase knowledge, they are practically useless. They should spur you on towards greater love for God and people.
Ezra 7:10
For Ezra had set his heart to seek Yahweh’s law, and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel.
1 Corinthians 13:2-3
If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but don’t have love, I am nothing. If I give away all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don’t have love, it profits me nothing.
